Angel fish Family cichlid Pterophyllum scalare Origins specially in amazon basin brazil Orinoco basin and various rivers in the Guiana shield in tropical south America LIFE SPAN : generaly 4 to 6 years in captivity.But it depend on aquarium size. In nature they can alive 10 – 12 years. SIZE:- Maximum 6 inc diameter body size, but with their long dorsal fin and annals fin it may be 10 inc towards. HABIT and NATURE:- an unique rectangular body shape.They like planted, rock,wood (bough wood or drift wood). Angel fish are frequently striped longitudinally.They are peace full.This graceful cichlid is amongst the most popular of all tropical fish.You can keep young angel fish in a community tank, but i suggest to keep them in a single species set up.
